Life Group: Rules of the Road

No matter where you are going, it's always good to know the rules of the road. Life Groups are no different! Rules are designed to keep us on track, keeps us safe, help us get to our ultimate destination.
  1. There are no stupid questions.  Please feel free to ask anything.  Chances are someone else was thinking about the same thing!
  2. No one has all the answers.  Certainly I don't.  Sharing our answers together enables us know God better.  All of us who believe have the Holy Spirit in us, and when we share together, we gain wisdom and can see the multifaceted beauty of our God.
  3. There needs to be a leader, but the leader in an adult setting is the facilitator, the hostess, not the instructor. We all will learn from each other. However, the leader will guide the group to stay on track, move the discussion along, and redirect the conversation when necessary.  The leader will also encourage everyone to share their thoughts.
  4. Please read the scripture for the week and consider the questions before the group meets.  That is the way to get the most out of our time together.  But hey, we are all women and this is New Jersey.  Life happens!  If you are prepared or not, please come. It is ok to invite a friend. If you have missed a few meetings, or if you have not read ahead, come anyway.   The study is designed for you to jump in, whether you have prepared or not. You will be able to participate. The important thing is to come!
  5. Most importantly: what is said in Life Group -- stays in Life Group.  We cannot all be honest with each other if there is any doubt that what we share will go beyond the room.
The purpose of Bible study is not to merely to gain knowledge. It is life transformation.  As such the format of our study will be questions, not only about what we are reading in the Bible but also about how it applies to our lives.  The opening and reflection questions will be pointed to help us fully consider how to apply the words of scripture to our everyday lives.

If the answers are too deep for you to share comfortably in the group setting, that's ok. Please don't feel obligated to divulge more than you wish. However, you are encouraged to consider them as you are alone with God, so He may transform you into the beautiful women He always intended you to be.
