Woman, You Are...

As I searched for cards/gifts for my daughter for Mother’s Day, I saw several gifts with the theme of “You Are...” and then the gift listed all these lovely attributes and attached Bible verses to them. Then I looked at the Bible verses they listed and some were great and others, not so accurate.

Here are some below for us to discuss.

(1) You are ENOUGH:

  • Read 2 Corinthians 12:9. Is this saying “you are enough”?

  • Read verses 12:7-10. What is God saying to us here? What is His point?

  • What does He say about Himself?

  • What does He say about us?

(2) You are VICTORIOUS:

  • Read Romans 8:37. Is this saying “you are victorious”?

  • Read verses 8:31-39. What is God saying to us here? What is His point?

  • What does He say about Himself?

  • What does He say about us?

(3) You are CAPABLE:

  • Read Mark 10:27. Is this saying “you are capable”?

  • Read verses 10:17-31. What is Jesus saying to us here? What is His point?

  • What does He say about Himself?

  • What does He say about us?

(4) You are BEAUTIFUL:

  • Read Ecclesiastes 3:11. Is this saying “you are beautiful”?

  • Read verses 3:1-13. What is God saying to us here? What is His point?

  • What does He say about Himself?

  • What does He say about us?

(5) You are STRONG:

  • Read Philippians 4:13. Is this saying “you are strong”?

  • Read verses 4:10-14. What is God saying to us here? What is His point?

  • What does He say about Himself?

  • What does He say about us?

REFLECT: What does this tell us about reading scripture? Why is that important?
